Breakfast Casserole

This is an inherited recipie that I got from Cousin Bridget.  Adam married well, cause anyone who can give me a recipe that I use over and over is a winner in my book.

Breakfast Casserole

Cook Time 45 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 5 minutes
Servings 6 People


  • 12 Slices Bread Take crust off
  • 2 Cups Grated Cheddar Cheese Sharp works better
  • 1 Lb Sausage Turkey sausage works as well
  • 1/2 Cup Melted butter
  • 10 eggs Beaten
  • 1 Qt Milk
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Tsp Dried mustard


  1. Cook sausage until brown. Drain in and let it cool
  2. Grease a 9x13 pan. Butter or Pam works well.
  3. Cut the bread and spread in the pan.
  4. Spread cheese over mixture
  5. Spread the sausage
  6. Spread the melted butter
  7. Mix the eggs, salt, milk, mustard into a bowl.
  8. Spread over the rest of the ingredients.
  9. Cover and store overnight
  10. Preheat oven to 350 and cook for 45 min. I use the the toothpick method to make sure it's done. You want the egg to be fully cooked at the bottom. Serve warm.
