Total Time 40 minutes
Servings 10 Knots

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 1/2 Cups Warm Water Cold really doesn't work
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Yeast Or 1 Packet of Quick Yeast
  • 3 1/2 Cups Flour
  • 1 tsp Salt

Garlic Spread

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 Tbsp Fresh Minced Garlic I prefer the type you can keep in the Refrigerator, but fresh minced will work as well.
  • 1 tsp Parsley

Instructions

  1. Mix warm water, sugar and yeast together. Let that sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour and salt to the water, sugar, and yeast. Mix this until smooth. I use a Kitchenaid with dough hook, but by hand will work. Cover and keep in a warm spot for 10-15 minutes to let it rise.
  3. On a floured surface, roll your dough out about 1/2 inch thick. I used a pizza cutter to cut the dough in half and then in strips (about 8-10 inches) for the garlic knots.
  4. Roll the strips in your hands to look like ropes and then tie in knots.
  5. Place the knots on a greased baking sheet and allow them to rise for another 10 minutes.
  6. While resting melt the butter and mix together garlic spread. Spread over the knots.
  7. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15-20 minutes until they start to get lightly brown.
  8. When they come out brush again with garlic spread.
  9. Prepare to share immediately.
